Uncle Milton's Fireworks Light Show In My Room

Full Review by Rebecca @ Love2EncourageYou:

Uncle Milton Toys has an eclectic mix of toys, some of which are educational based. A few of the brands they carry are Ant Farm, National Geographic, and Star Wars. This product is the Fireworks Light Show in My Room.

Well, I'm sure the expression on my daughter's face is enough to capture your attention, but if that's not enough, let me just encourage you to read this review of a super fun kid's toy by Uncle Miltons! I was blessed with the opportunity to review this super fun children's toy called the Uncle Milton's Fireworks Light Show in My Room. The kids couldn't wait to get it out of the package! They were SOOO excited to play with it! You see, living here in Florida near Disney - we are spoiled and get to see fireworks year round whenever we want, but for those of you who only get to see them once a year around the Fourth of July, this toy can be even MORE fun! Although, I'm not sure much will top the hysterical laughter, giggles, oohs, and ahhhs that my children kept sharing as we proceeded to test and review this incredibly cool product! So I guess it really doesn't matter where you are from - this Fireworks Light Show in Your Room toy is just so much fun!!!

The allure of this toy does not grow old as some toys might. The Fireworks toy allows you to first pump the bottom handle and hear the launch sound of the firework going up in the air, then you pull the trigger and aim it at a wall or ceiling and watch as the colors burst into a firework show before your eyes and you hear the sounds of the fireworks explosion. It's very realistic sound effects actually - which living here near the land of fireworks by all the theme parks in FL - I found to be very impressive! I cannot share with you enough how cute it has been to watch all my kids enjoy this Fireworks toy - from my 15 year old who insisted on bringing it with him to show his friends in youth band on Halloween at the Trunk or Treat event, to my five year old telling us she worked at Disney and was helping to design the next fireworks show, to my little 21 month old who quickly learned to manipulate the toy all by himself and would climb under tables (to find a dark place) in order to play with it and would sit there clapping and cheering for himself each time he got it to go off. Lol.

The Fireworks Show in My Room toy by Uncle Milton's gets five stars from our family! Lots of cute ways to play with it! There are eight different patterned fireworks to project. This product retails for $34.99. This would be a unique gift under the tree this year and sure to entertain a wide range of ages with family and friends.  Enjoy!

Full Review by Donna at Donna's Deals and More:

I am very excited to share with you about a Children's book titled "Forever You, A Book About Your Soul and Body" written by Nicole Lataif. This book is just precious and would make a perfect Christmas gift for a boy or girl ages 4-8! I just love how she takes the subject of a soul and breaks it down for a child.

"Did you know that you have a soul? Did you know that there's more to YOU than anyone can see? Your soul is in all you are and do - soul and body, forever you!"

Nicole beautifully and simply takes a complicated subject and makes it easily digestible for kids. This is such a sweet book! Some of the principles in the book are:
  • When we care for oour bodies, we also care for our souls
  • We build character through our actions
  • The choices we make matter
  • Our highest purpose is fulfilled by loving God and others

You Can Be the Hands and Feet of Jesus This Christmas!

Be the Hands and Feet of Jesus This Christmas

Greetings my friends.

It's been awhile since I've had a free moment to simply share my heart with you. There are so many things I wish I could express in an eloquent fashion to help you see things the way God presses upon my heart to see them. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the world could be seen with His eyes and perspective on life and its circumstances?
I know many of you today are hurting...deeply, with challenges you think are just too hard to bear alone. I'm here to remind you ...you are never alone. You don't need to feel that way - you have a friend in Christ who never abandons you, so you will never truly be alone. When we hold Christ in our hearts and He is Lord of our lives, we can read and be encouraged by the truths of God's Word each and every day. On those days when life brings battles we cannot imagine we could go through by ourselves, He is there holding our hand, gently comforting us through His Words in the Bible, and through the support of Christian friends from the body of believers - who know to lend the support and love of Christ to ALL PEOPLE - simply by being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Do you know someone going through a tough time right now?

Maybe you are not the one going through a trial right now, but you know many friends, family, neighbors, or coworkers who are in that exact situation. Pray with me today about asking God to show us how we can do our part to be His hands and feet this Christmas and share His love with all those within our reach.
  • Do you have friends with a child or parent in the hospital? Have you sent them a card, visited them and their family at the hospital, or at their home to bring a blessing of a listening ear, someone to pray with, or a gift of cookies or home cooked meal to help them during this difficult time?
  • Is there someone you know who's serving time in a local prison? A friendly visit with some words of encouragement from the Bible and from you - a friend, could make a huge impact on their perspective while in that lonely environment.
  • What about getting a Christmas plant or flowers to brighten your elderly neighbor's holiday, and sit with them awhile to give them a bright spot in their week?
  • Maybe there is someone you know with health issues who cannot clean their house or mow their lawn? Offer to help do some laundry, wash their dishes, sweep or mop their floors or mow their lawns or rake leaves - to be a blessing worth more than words can say.
  • Have the children make some Christmas cards and get a bag of candy canes or some  carnations and visit a floor or two in a nursing home to pass out a card and a flower or candy cane to each of the residents.
  • Is the family next store having financial difficulties? Could you do a sneak "blessing" and drop a few gifts at their door on Christmas day to surprise their children?
This list could go on and on ...I'm sure you get the idea.  God loves each and every one of us - no matter who we are or where we are. He asks us to be His hands and feet and reach out to the people of this world and share His message of Christ's love. We can all try to touch the lives of those within our own circles, but can we all give it our best to go beyond our comfort zone and touch the hearts and lives of others within our reach that we don't normally get the chance to share with? God will help you know who you are able to be a blessing to. Best of luck as you reach out and share the reason for the season with all those around you this year!

Many blessings,
Rebecca

5Money Secrets: InspiringNew Ways to Think About Your Money
One of the main reasons you and Iare working together is that you’re tired of being driven by fears and desires.Throughout this lesson, I’ve pointed out that identifying finance as a strictlyintellectual endeavor has not served your needs. My goal is to lead you towardliving your one best financial life.Although what money alone can do islimited, its power to create happiness or cause suffering is immense. Thefollowing 5 Money Secrets provide a powerful way to guide your decision makingso that you can take genuine control of your financial life.
1. Your life will be filled withtough choices.2. Your entire life is determinedby how you make decisions.3. Your biases will affect everydecision you make.4. You will be distracted by thingsthat really don’t matter.5. You must have a good process to make good decisions.Money Secret 1: Your life will be filled with tough choices.YouWant It AllPart of consumer culture is thatfrom early on, we’re taught to think big. Every American can dream of owning anicer car. We drool over bigger TVs. We vow to take more vacations. We fantasizeabout fancier shoes and jewelry. With a combination of envy and disdain, weread stories of the super rich with their mega mansions and private jets. Sometimesit’s a blessing; other times, it’s a curse. In either case, we humans have alimitless ability to dream bigger and to always elevate our aspirations. Thisis true whether you’re a schoolteacher struggling to make ends meet or you’re abillionaire, like Bill Gates, debating how to improve the lives of as manyimpoverished people as possible—and, for the moreself-interested super rich, how biga yacht they can afford! At some point, however, you must acknowledge thereality of your circumstances. Usually, you can’t have it all. Soyou have to make choices.Neglecting to make tradeoffs canlead to credit card debt, a persistent inferiority complex, and constantfinancial pressure. To reach your fullest potential requires you to identifythe intersection between two elements:• Your currentdreams and goals• Your finiteresources
Money Secret 2 Your entire life isdetermined by how you make decisions:
BigDecisions Can Be Both Scary and ExhilaratingMajor decisions can keep you up at night. They sometimes nervously walk the line between big payouts and failures of mythicmagnitude. Consider some of the most significant ones you’ve made in your life.I’ll list a few possibilities: Who will be myprom date? How will I tellmy parents about the car wreck? What collegewill I attend?Should I takethe job?Should I quitand start a new career?Should I launchmy own business? Will I getmarried? Will I havekids?Do I want adivorce? What’s the bestcancer treatment? How will I livethe rest of my life? What do I donow? These supersized decisions arestressful because we don’t have control over their outcomes. Despite this lackof control, however, we manage to spend an exorbitant amount of time runningthrough countless what-if scenarios.
Money Secret 3 Your biases willaffect every decision you make:
Everyone perceives his or herfinancial situation in a particular way. We each have our own perspective thatis shaped by our personal history and upbringing. I have already discussed thefact that money helps you do the following three things:1. Avoid pain—by protecting youand helping you to take care of what you’re afraid might cause pain in thefuture2. Feel good—by getting youthe things that provide you with happiness and satisfaction3. Take care of theones you love—by meeting your obligations to family, community, and society at largeWe all want money to take care ofthese things for us. But because of who we are and the life we have led, one ofthe three is usually more important to us than the other two. And when it comesto important or stressful financial decisions, we generally have a primaryfocus.I call this primary focus your Money Mind. There are only three Money Minds. They are as follows:1. Fear (The Protector)2. Happiness (The PleasureSeeker)3. Commitment (The Giver)Whenfaced with important financial decisions, you will revert to your dominantMoneyMind, which will always affect the way you make decisions.
Money Secret 4 You will be distracted by things that really don’tmatter:
Your Two Worlds: External and InternalWith so much competing for your attentionevery day, determining where to direct your resources is a daunting task. Nodoubt, there are limitless ways to spend your time and energy. Unfortunately, you have a limited amount of both. In this regard, time is fair: Whether you’rethe president of the United States or a newborn infant, your daily dose of 24hours is the same. Therefore, to reach your goals, you must determine whereyou’ll direct your focus right now and what you’ll postpone until later. Inthis lesson, I’ll first describe what is competing for your time and resourceswhen it comes to your financial life. From there, you can determine how toseparate essential tasks from nonessential ones. Each of us lives in twofinancial worlds: external and internal. Our external world includes taxes, inflation, the country’s economy, the stock market, and more. All of these willaffect us, but we cannot control them. Meanwhile, our internal world consistsof our job, salary, spouse, and family—in other words, things we can directlyimpact.
Controlthe ControllableImagine that you’ve planned to loseone pound per week over the next ten weeks. You’ve made it to week three, andyou’ve proudly stuck to your plan. As a result, you’re three pounds lighter. Two activities havecaused your weight loss: You’vewalked three miles a day, and you’ve cut your total caloric intake. It’s now Monday of week four. Atthe start of your daily walk, you trip and sprain your ankle. The doctor saysthat you cannot bear weight on it for two weeks. Suddenly, an accident, whichwas out of your control, has presented you with two realities:
1. You can’t change what happened.2. You can only change how youreact to new information.
Money Secret 5 You must have a good process to make good decisions.1. Complete InformationThis means you have a comprehensiveunderstanding of all the issues related to a particular decision you need tomake. Complete information includes a decision’s possible ramifications, consequences, and long-term costs. You also need an accurate assessment of theresources you have available to pay for your decision.2. Objective AnalysisIn order to move forward in a waythat will help you avoid hazardous obstacles, you must remove all personalbiases that could cloud your judgment. This is why I had you complete the MoneyMind exercise. Now you must have a methodology to assess the costs, benefits, and tradeoffs required to move ahead with your decision objectively.3. Deliberate ActionSimply put, this will answer thequestion, “As far as going forward with my proposed decision is concerned, isit yes or no, or both yes and no?” Once you’ve come to a conclusion, you mustfollow a clearly defined and well-organized series of action steps in order torealize the best possible outcome. The most systematic way to do this is tohave a disciplined process that walks you through all the important steps you needto take.

Consumer Critique: Lightning-Fast German

To contact us Click HERE
I previously wrote a review for Lightning-Fast Spanish for Kids and Families and found it to be a great way to incorporate language learning - even for a language I don't speak. Now I had a chance to try Lightning-Fast German for Kids and Families and found that this installment has the same trademarks as the Spanish (and I would assume, other languages as well). It's designed to use everyday situations - eating, getting dressed, etc - to expose your kids to foreign languages, even if you don't speak it. And odds are, you'll learn some along the way!

Any foreign language experience is good for kids. It helps stretch the brain, introduce other cultures, and provide a foundation for later foreign languages (even in different languages than the one first learned). This can be a great goal for the coming year - or any time, really!

As someone who speaks German almost fluently, I found this book to be a solid introduction. The words chosen are all accurate. My only complaint is with pronunciation - I don't think the book adequately explains the German "ch" sound, or ö, both of which are admittedly difficult to explain in print. However, someone who pronounced everything in the book exactly the way it's typed phonetically would still be understood by a native German speaker.

I plan on giving this to a friend who has family in Germany but whose wife doesn't speak German (nor does he speak a great deal either), for them to be able to incorporate at least some basic German in daily life with their kids, so when they visit Germany the kids have at least a few words and phrases they can draw from.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy to facilitate this review.

“Becausechildren ages five and under are among those at greatest risk to fire, it’s criticalto teach them how to identify risks and protect themselves,” said Gamache. “Kidsare also wonderful ambassadors of information and do a great job of bringinghome the fire safety messages they’ve learned, which can make a significantimpact on entire households.”
Primarilytaught in schools, LNTB’s program lessons are most appropriate for four- andfive-year-olds, but can be used for kindergarten children, too. Releasedone at a time, the updated LNTB lesson plansand songs will be free to download on NFPA’s website. Registration is slated to kick-off in Minnesota January 2, 2013 - February 11, 2013. Parenting Pointers: Garage Organization

To contact us Click HERE
If you're like most people, you don't really think about your garage much. It's a place to park your cars and hide all the random junk that goes outside. Some people turn their garages into masterpieces, putting everything in its place, giving it a spiffy paint job, and making it look like a nice, sharp, well-organized space. Others have so much stuff in their garages (or it's so poorly organized) that the cars don't even fit. Most of us are somewhere in between.

It is helpful to have your garage well-organized (although having a great paint job isn't necessary but does look cool). This can save you time looking for things you know you have, and it can save you money by preventing you from buying things you already have or by minimizing the amount of toys and things that get broken from improper storage or getting other things dropped on them or tipped over into them.

One important piece of garage organization is the organization system itself. Sites like gladiator garageworks sell a wide variety of garage organization products, including cabinets, flooring specifically designed for use in the garage, ceiling storage implements, wall storage, a refrigerated designed for garage, and lighting. It's a good idea to use products designed for use in the garage, because garages are often subjected to extreme temperatures (even attached garages have more fluctuation than the house), more moisture, and other debris and liquids such as engine fluids if there's a leak or carpentry debris.

If you have a lot of time, the best way to organize your garage is often to empty it and start from scratch. Take everything out, and as you do, make sure to inspect for anything not currently in working condition. Make piles: broken and not able to be repaired, broken but fixable, no longer needed, and things that will go back in the garage. Toss anything you can't repair (or list on a free site like Craigslist; someone else may know how to fix it). Things you don't need, like tools that were for a one-time project or toys your kids have outgrown, can be donated or you can try to sell them on Craigslist or in a garage sale. Set aside one small area for items that need repair, and then work with the rest of the garage.

Keep items that are in the same category together, and use baskets or bins to collect small items that would roll around otherwise. Maximize use of space by hanging hooks and brackets from the ceiling or using rafters for rarely-used items. Place the largest and hardest-to-store items first, and then fit smaller things around them. If you have little kids, it can be helpful to use pictures to show them where to put their toys back when they're done.

If you don't have a lot of time, then work on one section at a time, following the same process. Now is also a good time to clean out the inside of your car, too - take out any garbage, give it a quick vacuum, etc.

Shopping Savings: Free Shipping Day

To contact us Click HERE
Free Shipping Day is Monday, Dec. 17. With over 1,500 stores signed up and more being added over the weekend, the one-day online shopping event is expected to break records.
Luke Knowles, creator of Free Shipping Day, credits the event's first-ever Monday occurrence as a big reason for its high-earning potential. "All past events have been scheduled on a Friday, typically one of the slower days for online shopping," says Knowles. "We broke records in 2010 and 2011 with this handicap, so I'm excited to see what this year will bring." Free Shipping Day's 2010 was the third-heaviest online shopping event in history. In 2011, the event generated over $1 billion in online sales and surpassed Black Friday's online earnings for the second year in a row.
Shoppers are attracted to the late-season deals and promise of delivery by Christmas Eve. In fact, a recent Rasmussen Reports survey shows only 15 percent of shoppers have completed their holiday shopping, with 59 percent admitting they haven't yet started. "Free Shipping Day is the procrastinator's holiday," continues Knowles. "It's meant to give last-minute shoppers an opportunity to save money on gifts and still receive them in time for Christmas. I think that's why it's so popular; it speaks to a lot of people."
Offers will go live on FreeShippingDay.com at midnight EST on Dec. 17.

Parenting Pointers: Music Lessons

Did you know that music lessons as kids can help adult hearing? Even a year or two of music lessons as a kid helped adults pick up sound waves, which aids in hearing in noisy environments. So if your kids show any interest in music at all (or even if they don't), consider giving them at least some formal musical training. As a private lesson teacher, married to a music major, I supported this already - but now there's yet another scientific reason why it can benefit kids.

Soul Sustenance: Wonderstruck: Awaken to the Nearness of God

To contact us Click HERE

Margaret Feinberg has a new book and 7-session DVDBible study called Wonderstruck: Awaken to the Nearness of God (releasing Christmas Day)—a personal invitation foryou to toss back the covers, climb out of bed, and drink in the fullness of life. To learn more, watch the Wonderstruck Video.
I recently received the insider’s scoop about Margaret’s new book. Here are somehighlights from the interview:

Where did the inspiration for the Wonderstruck book and Bible study come from?
Have you ever had one of those seasons where everything goes wrong, and when you think itcan’t get worse, it somehow finds a way? Most people who have worked in ministry haveexperienced those seasons—some may be in one right now. My husband, Leif, and I had just gone through one of the roughest years of our lives. In theaftermath, as we processed the pain and loss, I had an unexplainable desire in my heart. I beganpraying for the wonder of God. In essence, I said, “God reveal yourself, your whole self to me. Iwant to know you as Wonderful. I want to know you as I’ve never known you before and seeyou in places I’ve never recognized you before.” God did not disappoint.

What do you mean by “the wonder of God”?
Sometimes talking or writing about wonder feels like tying kite strings to clouds. It’s ethereal, and you can never quite get a grip on it. But if you look in the dictionary, the two maindefinitions of wonder are: “being filled with admiration, amazement, or awe” and “to think orspeculate curiously.”
Those definitions come together beautifully in our relationship with God. That’s why I define thewonder of God as those moments of spiritual awakening that create a desire to know God more.

Why are you calling people to #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK?
In other words, the wonder of God isn’t about an emotional experience or having some cool
story to tell your friends, but the wonder of God makes us want more of God—to go deeper and
further than we’ve ever been before.
If you look in the Gospels, what you’ll discover is that those who encountered Jesus wereconstantly left in wild amazement. They were awestruck by the teachings of Christ, the healingsof Christ, the mind-bending miracles of Christ. Within the Gospel of Luke we see words like“awe” and “wonder” and “marvel” at every turn. If this is the natural response to encounteringChrist, how much more should it be for you and I—who are invited to live in relationship withChrist as sons and daughters of our God Most High? We even created a free PDF that looks atsome of these Scriptures. For a free copy, email us at wonderstruck@margaretfeinberg.com andwe’ll send you one.   Follow Margaret’s snarky, funny, and inspirational posts on Twitter, Facebook, or her blog.
